What's a Bint?

Hi, my name is Rachel. I am a 26 year old college student / future scientist/ crocheter/ knitter/ Army veteran. This is my new weblog. So I am going to tell you what is up in my life, what I'm into these days. But first off, I'm sure you'd like to know just what bint means. It means "girl" in arabic. I was an arabic linguist in the army. I use the word bint as a part of my internet persona. The reason why I chose the word bint is because I think it sounds cute, simple, and a friend of mine at DLI used to call me it all the time. When I join a new forum, I like to tack on the appropriate noun as a prefix to bint, so on herp forums I'm snake_bint, knit forums its stitch_bint, health and fitness forums, fitness_bint and on MySpace, I am simply The Bint. The great thing about it is I never have to worry about my user namer already beingin use, forcing me to add digits until the name is original again like cool_chic12345678901.

So that's it for now. It's very late and I might run a 5K in the morning.
